If you're running a fall festival, school fundraiser, or fun fair, carnival games do a lot more work per dollar than people expect. They're easier to staff than big inflatables, kids cycle through fast, and they actually make great ticket-redemption stations if you're running a 'play to win a prize' setup.
The carnival games that consistently win
- 3-Lane Bungee Run — three kids race; the visual draws a crowd, and 2-minute turns mean throughput stays high
- Single or Dual Lane Axe Throwing — works for tween/teen events, fall harvest themes, fundraisers
- Basketball Shootout — classic, easy to staff with a volunteer, scales to any age
- Plinko / spin-the-wheel style games — pair well with a prize table for fundraisers
How many games do you need?
For a school fall festival with 200–400 attendees, 4–6 carnival games rotated through a 3-hour window is the sweet spot. Fewer than 4 and lines get long; more than 6 and you're under-utilizing what you paid for.
Staffing tip
Each carnival game needs one supervisor — usually a volunteer or older student. We brief them at setup on the rules and safety, but you handle staffing through the event itself.
Pairing games with inflatables
The strongest event setup we see at school fundraisers: one big inflatable as the visual centerpiece (Mechanical Bull, big slide, or obstacle course) plus 4–5 carnival games arranged in a horseshoe around it. Kids can self-rotate, attention stays high, and you keep one queue from blocking the others.
Permits and indoor options
Most schools don't need special permits for a fall festival on school property. If you're running it in a parking lot, check with your facilities office about anchor points (we use sandbag ballast for paved surfaces). Indoor in a gymnasium also works for cold-weather events — just confirm ceiling height (12+ feet for most carnival games).
Cost benchmarks
Schools and 501(c)(3) non-profits get discounted pricing automatically on every quote. Multi-game packages bundle together at a meaningfully better rate than booking each one separately. If you're trying to hit a specific fundraising target, tell us — we can usually structure the rental to make the math work.
