Mechanical Bull Rentals for Corporate Events: What to Expect

The Mechanical Bull is our #1 most-requested item for company picnics and after-hours events. Here's what's included, who can ride, and how to plan around it.

Mechanical Bull Rentals for Corporate Events: What to Expect

The Mechanical Bull is hands-down our most-requested item for corporate events. Company picnics, after-hours holiday parties, sales kickoffs, summer staff appreciation days — when an event planner calls and says "we need a centerpiece," the bull is usually the answer.

If you've never booked one before, here's exactly what to expect.

What comes with the rental

  • The Mechanical Bull itself, with the inflatable safety mat surround that catches every rider
  • A trained operator for the full duration of your event (required — this is not a self-serve item)
  • Setup, teardown, and on-site safety briefing
  • Standard 110V power for the bull's hydraulic system
  • Certificate of Insurance (COI) provided at no charge for your venue

Who can ride

Minimum age is 7. Maximum weight is 250 lbs. Riders must be sober (we will not let visibly intoxicated guests ride — our operator has final say). No participants with back or neck injuries.

The operator controls the speed and unpredictability. For a kids' summer camp event, they keep it slow and giggly. For a corporate after-hours event with a competitive crowd, they crank it up. Either way, every ride starts gentle so the rider can get oriented.

How much space you need

The bull plus its inflatable mat surround takes a 20x20 footprint with 3 feet of clearance on every side. Indoor setup is fine in any ballroom or gym with a 12-foot ceiling. Outdoor setup works on grass (staked) or pavement (sandbag ballast).

Throughput planning

Each ride lasts 30–60 seconds. With our operator running it efficiently, you can expect 40–60 riders per hour. For a 100-person event over 3 hours, that's plenty of capacity. For a 500-person event, you may want to book it for a longer window or pair it with other activities.

Crowd flow + photography

Two practical tips from running hundreds of these events:

  1. 1Set up a small queue area with a railing or stanchions. The bull naturally draws a crowd and an unmanaged line gets chaotic.
  2. 2Position it where your event photographer (or just a guest with a phone) can get clean shots. Riders being thrown off the bull are the photos that end up on company social media — make sure the background isn't a dumpster or fire exit sign.

Pairing the bull with other activities

For corporate events, the bull is often paired with carnival games (axe throwing, basketball shootouts), a photo backdrop, and food. The bull handles the spectacle; the other activities give people something to do while they wait for their turn.

We can quote any of those as a package. Mention what you have in mind when you request the quote and we'll put together pricing that's better than booking each one separately.
